Weekly Metals Mining Rundown with Peer Table - Premium Edition for Week Ending 7 Aug 2026

Precious metals prices SURGED this past week, led by silver rising +10.3% to US$63.54/oz, gold rising +7.4% to $4,343/oz, and PGMs palladium & platinum rising +7.6% and +6.1%, while copper also rose modestly by +2.1% to $6.57/lb; Mining stocks also surged, most by double-digit percent, led by larger cap silver, gold, and PGM miners which mostly rose by a whopping +20% or more; Broader equities also surged last week in fiat currency terms, with the S&P 500 rising +3.6% to a record high of US$7,758 and the big-tech dominated Nasdaq 100 rising by +5.1% to US$723; But both of these indices actually fell by roughly that same amount when priced in real gold and silver currency terms, with the S&P 500 priced in gold falling by -3.6% to 1.79, and the Nasdaq 100 falling by -4.7% to 11.39--as the fiat currencies these equities are priced in continue on their path to more closely resemble monopoly money than the underlying real precious metals currencies they were initially intended to represent according to the coinage act passed by the United States congress in 1792; Covered announcements include: resource updates by American Uranium for its Lo Herma project in Wyoming, by Northisle Copper and Gold for its North Island project in BC, and by Adyton Resources for its Gameta project on Fergusson Island in Papua New Guinea; and a PFS filed by Newcore Gold for its Enchi project in Ghana.
